Kimberly Overman has been endorsed by Muslims for Democracy and Fairness (MDF PAC 22), a Tampa Bay political action committee formed in 2018 to serve the interests of the Greater Tampa Bay minority communities. MDF’s endorsements are based on a candidate’s commitment to serving minority communities, their record on inclusion, and their alignment with the concerns of local constituents.
In its endorsement, MDF PAC 22 recognized Kimberly’s engagement on the issues most important to the Muslim community and her commitment to incorporating diversity and inclusivity while working to meet the needs of her constituents. That recognition is rooted in her record: as County Commissioner she worked to ensure government services and decision-making were accessible to all communities, and she has long partnered with faith and cultural organizations across the region.
As MDF Chairman Gamal Gasser wrote, the organization is confident Kimberly will “bring about the progress and change that our community needs,” and looks forward to continuing to work together to achieve fairness for the greater community. It is a partnership Kimberly values and will carry into office.
